You MUST send your Test Results to Fred France for Credit

The Federal Government now requires all emergency responders (that includes all of us) to take training and to complete a series of online tests on the federally approved National Incident Management System (NIMS). The "Stick" is that we cannot qualify for federal grants until all of us have completed the training. Some of us took some of the class work at our regular training session on February 21. For those who did not attend that class, you can bone up on the material online by clicking on the course summaries below and reading the summary of the course material.. There are four or more courses required for every emergency responder. The four below are required for firefighters and EMT personnel. There are additional courses for officers and law enforcement.

All of the questions on the tests are specifically covered in the course summaries.. The tests are"Open Book". If you wish, you can open the course summary in one PC window and the test in another, and find the answers in the material as you go through the test. Or, you may find it easier to print out the course summary and shuffle through the pages as you go through the test. However, there are a lot of pages. If you do not want to either read the material online or print it for yourself, there is a hard copy in Jim Brooks' office in 'Wendel's tray' that you can borrow.

IS100 -Introduction to Incident Command System

IS200 - ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

IS700 - Introduction to National Incident Management System

IS800.B - Introduction to National Incident Management System

For some odd reason only explainable by the fact that the Federal Government is doing it, the IS-700 test is in a different format. The first two tests and the last test you can take by clicking on the test answers on the same page as the questions. For the IS700 test, you must download the questions from one web page and a separate answer sheet from another. Unless your monitor is big enough to show three pages at once, you will probably have to print the test questions and then fill out the answer sheet online.

You should be able to complete each test in about 45 - 90 minutes. All of us MUST take all four tests. When you have completed the test, you will be asked to input your social security number, name, and address, and you will be asked for an email address to which your certificate will be sent.

When the email arrives, you MUST certify your completion either by printing out a certificate and getting the printed certificate to Fred France (our offical maintainer of training records) or you can (preferred) forward a copy of the email to Fred at (frdnbty@skybest.com) so that Fred will also have a record of your course completion.
